MiDAS – Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme
MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, administered nationally by the Community Transport Association UK (CTAUK), an organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of minibus driving throughout the third sector.
The standard MiDAS driver training involves drivers completing a number of online MiDAS theory modules and an online theory test, covering a wide range of topics including:
- Introducing MiDAS
- Driver licensing
- Legal requirements
- Safe driving
- Vehicle checks
- Breakdown and collision procedures
- A 90 minute individual drive assessment
The accessible MiDAS driver training includes the standard driver training plus a classroom-based access and disability awareness theory session, including a 30 minute accessible assessment.
