Our Training

Theory Training

Learn how best practice can help keep your passengers safe, improve driver confidence, and reduce stress levels.

Standard MiDAS driver theory training is delivered via online modules with an online theory test.

The modules take around 90 minutes to complete and should ideally be completed one week prior to the driving assessment.

Prior to the driving assessment, drivers will be asked to provide licence documentation to confirm eligibility and legality to drive a minibus.

The Community Transport Association (CTA) will issue delegates with a learner pass and instructions for accessing the online theory modules.

Accessible MiDAS drivers attend a classroom-based theory session covering disability awareness, safe use of lifts and ramps, wheelchair securing, and passenger comfort.

Practical Training

Standard MiDAS drivers complete a personal, individualised 90-minute driving assessment.

Accessible drivers also complete a 30-minute access assessment.

On-Site Training

Training can be delivered at your venue across Greater Manchester using your own minibus, or using our fully accessible 17-seater Ford Transit, which is suitable for drivers with a standard category B licence.

Please note: We limit assessments to three 90-minute sessions per day to avoid rush-hour traffic and ensure a safer experience, particularly for new drivers.

Prior to assessment, drivers will receive guidance on the standards and skills required to successfully complete their driving assessment.
